Seeking Wound Care Nurse Practitioner - Mercy Health Springfield, OH

Mercy Health in Springfield, OH is seeking a team orientated advanced practice clinician (APC) to support growth in our busy Wound Care Center.  Experience in wound care is preferred.  

We are offering candidates a competitive income and benefit package.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform physical assessments on patients and complete patient histories in the ambulatory office and Wound Care Clinic.
  • Order medications, treatments, and labs as described and permitted under the Ohio State Medical Board Supervision Agreement and the Mercy Health Credentialing Board.
  • Wound Care Clinic, Hyperbaric Treatments
  • Round on patients admitted to the hospital; review care plans with nursing staff as established by our physicians.
  • Chemical cauterization, general wound care, incision and drainage, wound debridement, and ostomy care.
  • Educating patients and caretakers on wound care, infection, injury prevention, and pressure ulcer (bed sore) care.
  • Complete discharge summaries

Preferred education and skills:

  • EPIC experience
  • Certified Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
