Our Pediatric Behavioral Health team is expanding, and we are excited to invite a dedicated Play Therapy Specialist to join us in Minot. Our focus is on offering innovative and supportive therapeutic services to children facing emotional and behavioral challenges.
 
Job Summary:
As a Play Therapy Specialist at Trinity Health, you will utilize play as a medium for communication and healing. Your role will involve assessing and providing therapeutic interventions through play to support children in expressing their feelings, processing experiences, and overcoming challenges.
 
Responsibilities: 
  • Conduct assessments to identify the emotional and developmental needs of children.  
  • Develop and implement play-based therapeutic interventions tailored to individual needs and family dynamics.  
  • Facilitate play therapy sessions, creating a safe and supportive environment for children to explore emotions and experiences.  
  • Collaborate with families to educate them about the therapeutic process and engage them in their child's care.  
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive treatment and support for child patients.  
  • Participate in community outreach to promote awareness of play therapy and its benefits for mental health.  
  • Stay updated on current research and best practices in play therapy and child development.
Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field with a focus on play therapy.  
  • Valid licensure in North Dakota (LCSW, LPC, or equivalent) along with specialized play therapy training.  
  • Experience working with children in a mental health or therapeutic setting is highly preferred.  
  • Strong ability to engage and communicate effectively with children and families.  
  • Passion for fostering a supportive and playful therapeutic environment.  
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of play therapy.
