Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a physician led 600+ provider multispecialty group that has an excellent opportunity for an Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) who is committed to a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care and who is willing to support the growth of an orthopedic practice as part of a dedicated orthopedic program.
Responsibilities include co-management of the orthopedic patient in collaboration with the patient’s primary orthopedic surgeon. This involves direct management of the patient including, but not limited to, multiple types of joint injections, casting, pre-operative history and physicals, surgical assisting, post-operative follow up, and management of both acute conditions as well as chronic, non-surgical conditions. The advanced practice provider would be responsible for ordering, interpreting, and evaluating laboratory and diagnostic data, prescribing medications, and developing a treatment plan.
This position specifically attends to hospital consults, IP follow ups, manages IP discharges for all IP status surgeries, primary service call 8am – 5pm weekdays, ED consults, and referral triage/management.
The schedule for this full-time opportunity is Monday – Friday with a minimum of 36 patient facing hours per week. There is minimal call to cover PTO/emergencies and may include after hours and weekends.
The qualified candidate will exude passion about orthopedic health issues and demonstrate evidence of comprehensive assessment skills, expert clinical skills, and problem-solving abilities. The desirable candidate will also have prior healthcare experience in a Hospitalist and/or clinic role.
Support includes a team of 5 full-time PA's and a sports med provider who support 5 surgeons from general orthopedics, sports medicine, foot & ankle, and spine surgery. Surgeries are performed at Saint Alphonsus Medical Center – Nampa.
