Qualifications: Board certification in gastroenterology with excellent clinical, educational and leadership skills are required.

 

The University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine and the UVM Health Network are recruiting an Associate Division Chief for our network wide Gastroenterology Division. UVM Health Network Gastroenterology is an integrated academic division serving 7 hospitals in Vermont and upstate New York. The ideal candidate will share clinical and educational duties at both Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital (primary clinical location, Plattsburgh New York) and the University of Vermont Medical Center (Burlington, Vermont). The Associate Division Chief will have the primary leadership responsibility for recruitment, education and clinical quality at the 4 upstate New York division sites. Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital has an established procedural program with a large referral base, with excellent inpatient and outpatient facilities to deliver a broad spectrum of high-quality gastroenterology care.

On average CVPH has 9,400 admissions, 825 births, 46,000 emergency room (Level 3 Trauma Center) visits and 19,000 surgical procedures.  CVPH is JCAHO accredited and recognized by Healthgrades as a Top 100 Hospital for Cardiac Care.

Our state of the art critical care unit has 14-beds, the Progressive Care Unit has 12 beds and our three cath labs have digital equipment. We have 9 state-of-the-arts OR’s, a 27-room Emergency Department and newly constructed interventional radiology suites. Our Ambulatory Surgery Center has 4 OR’s and 4 endoscopy suites. The EMR network wide in both the clinic and inpatient settings is EPIC.  

Now more than ever, CVPH is committed to creating a learning environment to provide a comprehensive and well-rounded medical training experience. Our affiliation with the University of Vermont Medical Center, a level I trauma center located 1 hour away, has helped us to establish a community-based Family Medicine Residency. In addition, we have Emergency Medicine residents and medical students from UVM doing clinical rotations at CVPH.
