The Department of Family Medicine is seeking a BC/BE Family Practitioner for our Helena Arkansas Family Medicine Clinic at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) East Campus.  
 
  • Position is 90% clinical and 10% clinical admin.

Job Description  
  • The Department of Family & Preventive Medicine in the College of Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences invites applications for a Board-certified family physician and faculty member, who will actively participate in clinical services, research, and scholarly activity related to Family Medicine.
  • Applicants must possess or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Arkansas.
  • Applicants must demonstrate experience and competence in teaching and patient care.

Job Responsibilities
  • The successful candidate will provide outstanding care to patients and work collaboratively with other team members to help advance a high-quality Family Medicine Clinic. 
  • Candidate will provide direct patient services, including utilizing critical judgment in the performance of comprehensive health assessments, differential medical diagnosis including ordering, conducting, and interpreting diagnostic and laboratory tests, and the prescribing of pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments in the direct management of acute and chronic illness and disease.
  • Additional administrative duties include implementing, reviewing and developing clinical protocols, performance objectives, productivity benchmarks, compliance measures, provider workflow planning and provider scheduling. 
  • Also, the position serves as coach/mentor/trainer to staff providers, giving guidance in best practices, troubleshooting of medical services and operations issues in priority of urgency according to UAMS East Policy.
Required Experience  
  • MD/DO degree 
  • Arkansas Medical License 
  • DEA Certificate 
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine
