Employed Hospital Medicine Nocturnist - Covenant HealthCare, Saginaw, MI

Covenant HealthCare, the Great Lakes Bay Region's leading healthcare provider, is seeking a board-certified physician to join our established Hospital Medicine team as a Nocturnist (Admitting Physician) in Saginaw, MI. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified and passionate physician to provide exceptional patient care in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients admitted during your assigned 12-hour shift (5 pm - 5 am or 8 pm - 8 am) with the support of another physician and APP.
• Manage the care of patients admitted overnight through the emergency department.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, formulate diagnoses, and develop treatment plans.
• Order, interpret, and act upon diagnostic testing.
• Manage medications and provide patient education.
• Collaborate effectively with the day team to ensure a smooth transition of care.
• Participate in rounds and conferences.
• Complete all required medical documentation in a timely manner.
• Actively contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain all professional licensures and board certifications.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
• Board certification in Internal Medicine.
• Minimum two years of experience in hospital medicine or a related field.
• Strong clinical skills and experience in managing acutely ill patients.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working nights and weekends is preferred.
